The Weekend...

I have three boys.  Compared to some families, I suppose that may be a lot.  But I know SEVERAL families who have more than that.  I am the oldest of five, myself, so I'm not unfamiliar with the concept.  And, yet, there are always those moments when I'm reminded that some would consider us a "large" family...

...like when I go to the grocery store.  Every time I go, there has to be SOME comment made about how full my cart gets.  I always answer with the same reply, "I have three growing boys."  Then, the expression changes on the face who made the comment, as if suddenly, they understand completely...

Well, they should try PACKING, for even a short weekend trip, with those same three boys.  I thought it might get better as they got older.  We've graduated from strollers, pack 'n plays, bottles, and baby food.  But now, everyone has to have "their own bag..." complete with "their" things... 3 sets of toilettries, 3 sets of "entertainment"... 3 sets of snacks... let alone the two dogs.  We just won't go there.

What's my point to all of this?  Well, here it is, Monday... after a short, little weekend visit with my husband's family... and I "should" be unpacking the rest of everyone's things (probably an all day chore).  Yet, here I sit, at the computer... working on pictures.  Scheduling sessions.  Updating the calendar for the week's events.  There's a load of laundry in the washer.  Does that count?

Not to say it's not worth it, of course... the boys had a great time.  We visited with family.  I got to hug and kiss on my nieces and nephew.  We celebrated the birthdays of my younger two.  I have a happy mother-in-law, and we've got lots of great pics to treasure the memories forever and ever.  :)

Every fall, we do a new session of my husband's brother and his adorable family.  I love doing pics at their house.  They live in this great, country house, out where their closest neighbors are barely visible from yard to yard.  It's just a GREAT place for kids to run and play and enjoy life.  That's exactly how the pictures turn out... natural, easy, and fun.  :)

I'm amazed how much children change within a year.  You don't notice it as obviously until you look at a picture, side by side.  Wow.  They just grow SO fast!  Here are a few from that Saturday evening:
