More About Ellie.

We went to the vet for her one week followup.  Guess what?  Our puppy is cancer free!!!  The tumor was benign.  Removing it is all that needed done, so she is healthy and well.  Our wonderful vet seemed as happy to tell us as we were to hear it!  Yay!  He wanted her stitches to stay in a week longer, just to ensure complete healing, but said that she looked GREAT.  :)

Here are a few pictures I took this morning before we went to see the vet.

This is the inside of Ellie's ear.  As you can see, he had to cut out a good sized portion of her ear.  It looks weird, all fanned out like this, but her ears are always down.  He cut it in a way that it looks perfectly natural when it's at rest, like she normally has them.

This is the backside.  Poor thing needs her hair to grow back, and it will look better.  :)

And here she is, thinking, "Mom... really?  Do we HAVE to be doing this right now????"  But, see?  Her ear looks great!  When she's holding it normally, you'd never know that half of it is missing!  :) 

Sweet girl... she can tell all her doggie friends she was in a really bad fight... "You should see the OTHER guy!" she'll say.  :)
